UFO Emotiv is an audience-research platform operated by UFO Moviez India Limited (“we”, “us”), the Data Fiduciary responsible for the personal data described here. It measures how audiences respond emotionally to film and advertising content using Upmood wearable wristbands. This policy explains, in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), what personal data we handle, why, and your rights as a Data Principal. It covers two groups: research participants who wear a band during a screening session, and platform users (our clients and staff) who sign in to this site.

If you are a research participant

Before a session you are given a notice describing what we collect and why, and asked to give your consent by signing a consent form. Your consent is free, specific, informed and unambiguous, and we record which version of the form you signed. Because a wristband reading reflects sensitive information about you, we rely on your consent and nothing else. You can decline, or withdraw your consent at any time — as easily as you gave it — before or during the session, without giving a reason; withdrawing stops any further processing.

We collect:

We use this data solely to produce aggregated audience-response research for the content owner. We do not use it for advertising or profiling, sell it, or send it to any AI service.

If you are a platform user

We store your name, work email address, organisation and role so you can sign in (via emailed magic link) and see the reports your organisation is entitled to. We process this to operate the service for your organisation.

Who we share data with

These are our Data Processors, engaged under contract to process data only on our instructions:

We do not send participant data to any AI service. We use only the strictly necessary session cookies that keep you signed in — no analytics or advertising trackers.

Retention

We keep participant identities only as long as the research project needs them, after which they are anonymised; readings are retained in pseudonymised form for research validity. Platform account data is kept while your organisation has an active subscription.

Your rights as a Data Principal

Under the DPDP Act you may ask us for a summary of your personal data and how we process it, to correct or complete it, or to erase it, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Contact our Grievance Officer at helpdesk@ufomoviez.com; we respond within the timeframe required under the DPDP Act. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may raise the matter with the Data Protection Board of India.
